How To Install KDE SC 4.4 Final In Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic

Ubuntu Lucid users can simply "sudo apt-get upgrade" to upgrade to the latest packages, because KDE 4.4 is already available in the main repository.

Ubuntu Karmic (9.10) users have to add the following PPA to install KDE 4.4 final:

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:kubuntu-ppa/backports

Then, if you are already using KDE (Kubuntu):

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

If you want to install KDE:

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get dist-upgrade && sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
