- new breadcrumbs and mode button for Nautilus Elementary and a new ListView style (for all applications):
- new dark panel with dark menus:
To enable the dark panel, you need to edit the "gtkrc" file (which, depending on how you've installed the theme, can be found in either in ~/.themes/elementary/gtk-2.0/ or /usr/share/themes/elementary/gtk-2.0) and at the bottom of the file, replace:
include "Apps/panel.rc"
with:
include "Apps/panel-dark.rc"
Other changes include a revised Midori sidebar, removed the Equinox dependency, brighter colors, new progressbars, new Murrine buttons and more. A complete list of changes can be found @ DeviantArt.
Install Elementary Theme 2.0 in Ubuntu
To install Elementary GTK theme, you'll still have to add the ElementaryArt PPA (this is not required for Ubuntu 10.10 Maverick Meerkat, so you can directly install Murrine, Aurora and the Elementary Icon theme without adding the PPA) to install the latest Murrine and Aurora GTK2 engines as well as the Elementary icons:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:elementaryart/ppa
sudo apt-get install gtk2-engines-aurora gtk2-engines-murrine elementary-icon-theme
Then, download the latest Elementary GTK Theme 2.0 from DeviantArt, extract the .zip file, open the Appearance Preferences window and drag and drop the extracted .tar.gz onto it.
Update: the PPA has been updated with the latest Elementary theme (Maverick only!) so you can install it using:
sudo apt-get install elementary-theme
(make sure to firstly add the ElementaryArt PPA as stated above)Debian users can install the latest Elementary theme (2.0) from Hadret's Debian repository
Please note that it's also recommended you install Nautilus Elementary, or else the theme might not look as intended.
