Orta Theme Gets An Ubuntu PPA (And A New Version)!

Orta theme finally got a PPA so it's now easily to install and update.

Before adding the PPA, make sure you have removed any previous instance of the theme!

To add the PPA and install Orta, use the following commands (available for Ubuntu Lucid and Maverick):

sudo add-apt-repository ppa:nikount/orta-desktop
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install orta-theme

Once installed, you can further customize Orta by going to System > Preferences > Orta Settings Manager.

Besides the Orta theme package (which will automatically install Orta Settings Manager), there are 2 more packages available in the PPA:

* Orta Emerald decorations - which you can install running the following command:

sudo apt-get install orta-emerald-decorators

* Orta Xfwm4 decorators - install it using the following command:

sudo apt-get install orta-xfwm4-decorators

The PPA features a new version (1.0.1) which comes with the following new features:

• New Metacity and xfwm decorators without round corners.
• The older metacity decorator (pre version 1) is also available for installation (emerald version included).
• New option to center the decorator title on the Fixes page of the Orta Settings Manager

Fixes in Orta 1.0.1:

• Installation will no longer be aborted when the user tries to install the theme after having removed the settings and temporary files.
• Light flat panel seperator is no longer visible.
• Gwibber text input widget shadow fixed.
