OpenShot, one of the most popular video editors for Linux has reached version 1.4, getting a many improvements and bug fixes:

- more stable video & audio effect engine
OpenShot 1.4 still uses GTK2 but GTK3 is planned for the next OpenShot Video Editor version.

Install OpenShot Video Editor 1.4 in Ubuntu
Add the stable PPA (available for Ubuntu Oneiric, Natty, Maverick and Lucid) and install the latest OpenShot using the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:openshot.developers/ppa
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install openshot frei0r-plugins
To get the animated 3D titles to work, you need to install the latest Blender by using the following commands:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:cheleb/blender-svn
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install blender
