Ubuntu / Linux news and application reviews.

Converseen is a multi-platform GUI tool that lets you easily resize and convert single or multiple images. The application uses Imagemagick so it supports a huge list of image formats, including: GIF, JPEG PNG, PDF, DPX, EXR and so on.

Converseen batch image resizer and converter features:
  • image previewer
  • display image info
  • resize images by % or px
  • you can replace the images in place (by overwriting the original images) or rename them
  • quality settings for png and jpeg files

To install Converseen in Ubuntu Oneiric, Natty, Maverick or Lucid, use the commands below:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:faster3ck/converseen
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install converseen

For OpenSuse, Fedora and Windows packages (as well as source files), see the Converseen homepage.

For an even easier way of resizing images with a simple right click in Nautilus (but it doesn't support conversion), see Nautilus Image Converter
