Rhythmbox 2.97 has been released a couple of days ago, bringing a new, more compact header layout which includes album art by default, along with a new podcast subscription interface and other minor new features and bug fixes.
Changes in Rhythmbox 2.97:
- new, more compact header layout which includes album art
- uses libmusicbranz4 for audio CD metadata
- fixed buffering for network streams
- configurable encoding settings for the library using GStreamer presets or simple quality settings
- fixed audio CD extraction speed
- new podcast subscription interface, including iTunes and Miroguide searching and auditioning before subscription
- many bugs fixed
Install Rhythmbox 2.97 in Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin
The latest Rhythmbox 2.97 is available in the WebUpd8 Rhythmbox PPA for Ubuntu 12.04 Precise Pangolin, backported from Ubuntu 12.10. To add the PPA and upgrade to the latest Rhythmbox, use the commands below:
sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/rhythmbox
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
